We, as a group of 7, arrived for lunch on a Thursday. We did not arrive together; however, we were seated as we arrived in a quick and friendly manner. They had to rearrange a couple tables. Drink orders were taken right away and delivered promptly . Beer is available and that's what we ordered. The ambiance is that of a breakfast diner and seems appropriate for the menu. We ordered 6 lunches and one breakfast. The breakfast was tasty, good portions, and everything we could want. Of the lunches, two of the hamburgers were a bit overcooked and on the dry side. The rest of the sandwich's were as expected. Some of our group eats there on a regular basis and highly recommends. The check was handled professionally and the pricing was reasonable. Parking is either street parking or in a nearby free lot.

We love this place! The service is amazing- all the staff are attentive and friendly. I got the pesto omelette and hashbrowns and it was delicious. Such good portions and a cute and cozy restaurant. Definitely recommend!!

Good morning! It's Saturday, October 05, 2024, and it's the first Saturday of the month, and that means prime rib and eggs are offered for breakfast at Edelweiss Restaurant 2! Prime rib and eggs is a tradition at this restaurant, and it's even listed on the printed menu. This is a monthly event that you don't want to miss! A perfectly grilled slab of prime rib, hash brown potatoes, two fried eggs, a side of sausage gravy, and a slice of toast made for a perfect breakfast. The horseradish sauce and the side of gravy made for fine dipping, and the Heinekin beer made for a great dessert. The monthly prime rib breakfast Edelweiss Restaurant 2 serves one of the best breakfasts in Placer County, and maybe even in the greater Sacramento area. This amazing breakfast event happens the first Saturday of every month and is published on social media. We came here for the prime rib... and we got prime rib! I'm talking about a generous slab of prime rib - a pound or so - grilled perfectly to order, in my case... medium rare and taste-bud perfect. Talk about an amazing breakfast entree... the slab of meat was a very large, thick 16-oz cut of choice prime rib beef, which was tender, juicy and cooked to order. I went with medium rare, which was my choice, but if medium rare isn't your choice, the talented chef will grill your prime rib exactly the way you choose. As always, the meat was perfectly cooked, tender, flavorful and simply delicious! Not only was it tender and delicious, it was simply beautiful to look at and almost made me afraid to dig into it. Well... almost... Two cups of horseradish sauce for dipping always works with me, and really gets my taste buds into morning overdrive. Oh... I almost forgot to mention the presentation today was simply beautiful, as the slab of beef was medium brown around the edge, but a tender pinkish inside... tender, juicy and delicious! This is a slab of prime rib at it's best in every way... If you really desire to make your morning truly spectacular, cut off a small piece of the juicy prime rib, dip it into the horseradish sauce and enjoy. It's a slice of heaven in Auburn! As in previous visits, my large slab of hash brown potatoes made for the perfect side dish. As in all "old school" diners, the hash browns were golden crispy and crunchy on the outside, and tender, white and juicy on the inside, which made perfect hash brown potatoes. Enjoyed as a side dish to the prime rib, dipped into the eggs, or the gravy, the hash browns were simply perfect. And the gravy... this breakfast is "standalone delicious" but why not go the extra mile and add an optional side of sausage gravy? You won't regret it, as the gravy was thick, creamy, rich, full of flavor and included lots of sausage bits. The gravy could almost make for a standalone side dish, but when you dip your potatoes or toast into the gravy... it's shangri la time in old town Auburn for breakfast! My two eggs, fried sunnyside up, as per my order, arrived fried... perfectly. The piece of sourdough toast was perfectly buttered and toasted, and added to the enjoyment of my delicious breakfast. Just a quick note that the prime rib breakfast is always priced at "market value" so the price varies from month to month. The breakfast is not your "diner priced" bargain breakfast, as it's premium every step of the way, but it's a breakfast that you'll love, and you'll forward to next month to enjoy it again... Today made for another 5-star breakfast at Edelweiss Restaurant 2, located in Auburn, CA.

This is a popular stop for I-80 travelers from the Bay Area to Lake Tahoe and back, a favorite among locals because they have a huge breakfast and lunch menu while serving large portions. Lots of repeat customers, is centrally located, easy to find, and happy servers greet you.

Right off the 80, Old Town Auburn is a must-stop for anyone travelling this way. Except maybe the Donner Party. Donner Party, table for 81... 74... 79... 68...? Anyway, we stopped in Auburn because of the striking old architecture (it's worth a look) and the locals led me to this place with super unpretentious with friendly, attentive servers. We sat in the John Travolta Table. It's in the closet. I kid. It's in the corner. I guess he shots scenes from Phononi Phoenomim Phenomin that 1996 movie in this part of town. I ordered a burger. It wasn't the BEST burger I have ever had, but it was crazy fresh and crazy big and crazy loaded, with sharp cheddar covering the jalapenos so they didn't roll off the burger, and the prices were all reasonable. It came with more crisp fries than I needed (a rarity) and a 17 oz diet coke, with free refills. I liked the place so much that we came back for lunch less than 24 hours later. This time I had one of their 45 4-egg omelettes, the #16 (Bacon, Onion, Avocado, and Tomato), which they really should rename the B.O.A.T. It was huge and fresh. The country potatoes were okay, but I recommend the hash browns. I took 2/3 of my avocado out and covered my toast and somewhere a hipster got its wings.

First time trying, visiting from Las Vegas, exceptional service and food. Will definitely recommend. May your business continue to be blessed.

WHERE DO ALL THE LOCALS GO? Well, they dine at Edelweiss Restaurant 2 located in Old Town Auburn. Great little local joint where everyone knows your name! (note- Edelweiss Restaurant 1 is located in downtown Auburn and is managed separate of each other) This was my first visit to OId Town Auburn and Edelweiss Restaurant 2 and IMHO stood out above the other eateries. 46 omelet varieties? Sheesh! and the size of each omelet is 4 eggs!! 4 Eggs.... You'd think Paul Bunyan lived there. But they do offer 1/2 orders if your "Paul Bunyan" appetite can't have the full size 4 egg omelet. Now then, I'm from Hawaii (where "Loco Moco" was born) and Edelweiss Restaurant 2 had a Loco Moco on the menu. My travel partner ordered it so I had an opportunity to taste it. It was pretty darned good with a brown mushroom gravy over a LARGE bed of rice. If I'm ever passing through Auburn (which I do at least twice a year) I will stop in old town Auburn to try other items on Edelweiss Restaurant 2's menu. oh- one more thing= it's priced right.

We don't eat out much anymore because it's so expensive and more often than not the meal is a major disappointment for what we spent. That was not the case with our breakfast at old town Eidelweiss. The meal was perfect; a massive plate of cooked to perfection hash browns and bursting at the seams 4-egg omelet. Had to take half of it home it was so much delicious food. No skimping here on the fillings. And after reviewing menu prices for other breakfast places Eidelweiss wins the prize for affordability. Have eaten at both locations - service is always on pointe both spots and the ambiance of old town location is the best. Highly recommend

An awesome breakfast spot! Edelweiss 2 has been our go to breakfast spot, and my personal favorite for omelets, for many years. It's the perfect place to stop while traveling to and from the North Lake Tahoe area. Portions are huge, so go with an appetite! There is, however, an option for a half order. I always get a bacon cheddar omelette, but the choices are nearly endless at this great old fashioned local diner.
